Surgeries performed with robotic surgery are laparoscopic surgeries and the physician manages the arms of the robot with a wide field of view.

Da Vinci Robotic Surgery System

With the development of technology, solutions can be offered for many diseases that seemed impossible to treat. "Robotic surgery is at the point where it can offer the best possible results and comfort to the patient. Robotic surgery, which is accepted as the most sophisticated point that surgical technology has reached today, has been successfully applied in many surgeries at Liv Hospital for 7 years.

How does the da Vinci Xi, X Surgical Robot work?

This new system features advanced instruments, accessories and 3D digital optics. It increases surgical efficiency and success through rapid setup technology using sound and laser guidance, a drape design that simplifies surgical preparation, and a lightweight and fully integrated slim camera. The new da Vinci X robotic system consists of a robotic tower and a surgeon-operated console that provides a high-resolution 3D image of the surgical field and is the control area for three robotic arms. In short, the surgeon sits at the console and performs the surgery by controlling the robot arms with a perfect 3D image.

What types of surgery can it be used for?

The new da Vinci X System can be used in general surgery, especially for benign and malignant diseases of the colon and rectum. The main advantage is the protection of nerves close to the surgical site in rectal surgery. In urology it is used for prostate and kidney surgery, while in gynaecology it allows optimised, focused quadrant surgery, including procedures such as hysterectomy and uterine prolapse. It is also widely used in cardiovascular surgery in selected cases.

Robotic obesity surgery

In patients with obesity problems, excess subcutaneous fat and abdominal fat make surgery more difficult than normal. The robotic surgery system allows many different types of surgery (sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, duodenal switch and revision surgery) to be performed on morbidly obese patients. These procedures are designed to reduce the size of the stomach or to reduce food absorption by removing part of the intestine.

Advantages of the da Vinci X Surgical System

The da Vinci X" Surgical Robot facilitates the work of surgeons and offers patients the chance to return to a normal life more quickly. da Vinci X enhances surgical capabilities with thinner and lighter arms compared to other systems, and ensures that tremor is not transmitted to the robot's arms. It offers three-dimensional vision and can increase the surgeon's working area by up to 20 times. With da Vinci X, the fifth generation of da Vinci systems, our surgeons can easily achieve results in extremely complex surgical applications. The main benefits for patients compared to traditional open surgery are: increased safety, rapid recovery, less pain, cosmetic comfort with smaller incisions and minimal blood loss.
