Liv Hospital Regenerative Medicine Stem Cell Production Center provides solutions to medical and aesthetic problems by using regenerative cells obtained from the patient’s own tissues and/or the umbilical cord of the newborn baby. This clinic works with all clinical branches and provides the treatment of unhealthy, dysfunctional cells and tissues using cellular treatment approaches defined and approved by legal and scientific procedures.

Liv Hospital Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Center is a pioneer in the field of "Cellular Therapy" in Turkey by following current developments in the world, since its establishment, enables to present the current treatment approaches to patients with cellular products.

    Characteristics of Stem Cells

Stem cells have two important features:

1- Stem cells can divide to renew themselves over long periods of time, millions of cells can arise from a single stem cell.

2- Stem cell cannot work with its neighbors to pump blood throughout the body, as in heart muscle, cannot carry oxygen to tissues such as red blood cells, or transmit the necessary electro-chemical signals to tissues and organs such as nerve cells. However, non-specialized stem cells can originate from specialized cells such as heart muscle cells, blood cells or nerve cells.

Four basic features of stem cells are very important in the use of these cells for treatment-purposes:

    • That they can settle in the inflammation area when injected into the vein after tissue injury,

    • That they can secrete a large number of bioactive molecules that allow damaged cells to heal and suppress inflammation,

    • That they do not cause allergic reactions in the body and have immune system regulatory functions,

    • That they differentiate into different cell types

    Stem Cell Production

Although stem cells are theoretically obtained from many tissues and organs, in present, the most widely used sources in treatment-purposed stem cell applications are; bone marrow, umbilical cord, joint fluid or membrane, and umbilical adipose tissue.

Stem cells are produced in the laboratory using a (autologous) biopsy sample taken from the patient’s own tissue related to the disease. First of all, the relevant cells are isolated from this biopsy sample and multiplied by being fed continuously and undergoing detailed controls under appropriate conditions. Another method is the production of cells from another donor (allogeneic), for example from the umbilical cord of a newborn baby, by culturing and propagating under GMP conditions.

    GMP Laboratuary

Liv Hospital Regenerative Medicine Stem Cell Production Center, which has International Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) quality standards, is the first center in Turkey where stem cell production is carried out at international standards and hospital conditions.
